Jason Gardner has over 20 years of experience as a trial attorney handling thousands of serious felony and misdemeanor criminal cases and proceeding to jury trial in well over 50 cases in Colorado.
Jason handles complex criminal cases in Denver and all over the State of Colorado, defending clients charged with, organized crime, murder, assault, distribution of drugs, possession of drugs, gang related crimes and sealing of convictions just to name a few. Jason also serves as an expert witness in cases involving ineffective assistance of counsel claims.
Jason’s client centered work is demonstrated through the many jury trial acquittals; successfully litigating constitutional motions; obtaining pre-trial dismissals of charges; and securing favorable plea deals and sentences through negotiation, investigation and sentencing mitigation.
One example of Jason’s dedication to his client’s is obtaining pre-trial dismissal of first degree murder charges for a young father who was misidentified by a witness. This young father was facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. Jason’s pre-trial investigation and litigation convinced the Denver District Attorney’s office they charged the wrong person resulting in the dismissal of all charges.
Jason’s trial work has contributed to the reversal of several convictions after appeal, including clients serving life sentences
Prior to entering private practice, Jason gained extensive criminal defense experience as Deputy Public Defender for the Denver Trial Office working tirelessly for the accused and proceeding to trial on dozens of juvenile, misdemeanor and felony cases. Jason was also involved in the recruitment and training of new attorneys including supervising law school interns who proceeded to jury trial.
Jason is regarded as one of the more experienced trial attorneys in the State of Colorado.
